Hello

How it started

I named  J.C. Bynum Construction after my two sons Jerome and Cody Bynum. They started working with me while they were in Elementary School. I didn't know back then what I was building I just knew I needed to work and I needed to teach my children a skill they could use if they wanted to.

My father Jerome Bynum taught me how to do things on my own when I was a kid. I used those skills as an adult and stepped into the construction world. I was working as a Realtor with my mother Carol when the real estate market changed in 2008. I quickly had to pivot as the market began to change. Out of nowhere banks began calling the Real Estate office in need of contracting services. However, they needed a Realtor to evaluate the property and prepare it for sale. With that need came the need for construction services. I began finding contractors to remove items from the homes, make repairs, cut the grass, and maintain the property. As a Realtor, I provided reports to the banks of the progress. Then one day I decided instead of hiring people to do the work needed to make the home marketable I would do it myself.  I became the contractor and provided services for the banks. Out of that need, I birthed J. C. Bynum Construction. I began accepting work orders from the banks and completing them myself and I had my kids help me. As a Realtor and a Contractor I was able to make the repairs and sell the home.
